Gaming Firmware?

my brother's psp says 4.01 m33-2?

then yesterday i asked in the shoutbox how would i upgrade and i read something about "GEN"?

i think its about time to upgrade firmware, (my cousin told me to download blah then blah then blah @_@ cant remember) but then i see a whole long list of firmwares on another site..

can anyone explain?

the latest M33 firmware(possibly last)is 5.00 M33-6,to play newer games you would have to decrypt games.GEN is recently becoming popular,it automatically decrypts games,latest is 5.50 GEN D3.Personally i would go M33-6,and just decrypt games,since GEN doesn't have proper homebrew support right now,and there's nothing else interesting about it right now

Just grab the whole thing. Put the 550.pbp on the root and the update folder in ms0:/PSP/GAME

Run the update and install GEN-D3. Voila you have upgraded to GEN-D3. Oh if you have a custom theme remember to change it to the classic theme first.

use hellcat flasher and flash it to 5.00m33 and use a 5.00m33-6 update patch on it.

Erm, no.


Because you have firmware higher then 4.00, you can go to GEN D3 or GEN D (then GEN D2)
Just put the update folder in PSP/GAME
and then the 550.PBP on the root.

No it's not, especially if you download your games already decrypted like I do.
