Gah, Firefox once again decided it doesn't like my bookmarks and deleted them all. I usually keep a backup on my harddrive of them but I don't have one right now for some odd reason. Is there anyway to recover them? Is there any extensions that will keep them backed up automatically?

Did the same to me everyday for some reason, I have now got them in the toolbar folder and I haven't lost them for about a month now.

I've found that when my computer crashes unexpectedly if Firefox is running it can corrupt the bookmarks file. When Scandisk runs on restart it removes the corrupted file, and seeing as FFox stores all bookmarks in one file you can lose the lot. You can normally dig the remnants out of scandisk's recovered files. But recent versions of Firefox automatically create backups so it's easier to recover now.

(Incidentally I suspect the crashes I've had are an intermittent hardware problem, not because of Windows)

hey you all know firefox automatically makes backups of your bookmarks right?

    check your
    C:\Documents and Settings\(user)\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

there should be a folder called \bookmarkbackups there

    good luck
