Last year, I got a DVD (Copy of Cats Don’t Dance) stuck in my PS3 due to accidentally turning off the system and injecting the disc at the same time and while I did get the disc out, the disc drive didn't wanna work properly anymore so I checked again, and after putting everything back together, the disc drive was at this point broken, making sounds and badly scratching discs, it still red them at least but they would not come out, the last attempt at fixing this thing ended badly and the blue thing on the ribbin cable came off, at this point I just gave up and months later, I got a YLOD ps3 and my plan was to replace the motherboard in the YLOD with my original as well as deep cleaning the system, I still had the motherboard sitting on its own inside a closet as well as some other parts too and it was interesting putting the system back together, and at first I thought the systems life was dead, turns out I didn’t plug it in and now it showed life so I turned it on only to find out my HDD was dead, at first I was really worried for my saves but weeks later, I started to forget about them and got a 500gb HDD since it’s more storage, it was actually 476gb but it didn’t bother me, at first, I thought my HDD or PS3 was just acting up but it was the caddy that was preventing it from connecting, so I had to cut some of the bottom part on the caddy and now it connected, so I booted into safe mode and started to reinstall the software! And it failed at 80%! But luckly, a amazing friend of mine told me to check the Bluetooth board so I opened the system again and decided to replace it with the one from the PS3 that had to be sacrificed. And now the update worked! Yada Yada Yada and I was able to boot into the PS3 menu! So I went into the PS Store to redownload all my games and also see if there is any titles I’m looking for, and then I remembered to test the disc drive, I tried one of my DVDs and annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd! It didn’t read, I had to open up the system AGAIN and I luckily still had the laser from my old disc drive, so I replaced the dead laser with the other one and made sure I was very careful not to mess anything up and it does take quite a while, but it reads! Now I have a fully working CECHA01 PS3! I absolutely loved this system and I’m glad I could fix mine, too bad fixing it was not as fun as the games I played, and I got some new games too and plans to replay others like family Guy video game
