Final Fantasy IV set for July release in N. America

According to Nintendo Power's May issue, Final Fantasy IV for the DS is scheduled for release in North America in July. The new Nintendo DS edition features 3D characters and new episodes.

well that's almost 3 months of waiting, better late than never

& i really hope they'll announce a release date for DQIV soon or i'll really hate square enix for that

Wow, I didn't expect it so early and I0m not even sure if it's good news. We'll barely have some time to beat Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2 and enjoy it with the dedication and time it's due.

On the other hand, I can't wait to play this game! I'm a big Squeenix fan and I hear everywhere that this is one of the best in the numbered series.

totally agree on this one. The fourth was my favorite in the series so I'm really looking forward to it.

That's great news!

I honestly expected it more around the Christmas shopping season.

This game is phenomenal. Probably my favorite on the DS so far and I couldn't understand the cut-scenes or the story. Now I'm glad I saved my third play-through for the English version

I'm admittedly not a FF buff, so I'm not following you entirely, but FFIV DS is a re-make of the same FFIV that was on the GBA & FFII on the SNES. Just better. Cecil, Kain, Rosa, Rydia, Cid, Edge, Tellah, Yang, Palom & Porom, etc.

New features include a "Decant Ability" system, crappy wi-fi & pochika stuff, auto-mapping with map completion bonuses, and more.

Similar graphics and battle to FFIII DS, with more cut-scenes, voice acting, etc. and a better story.

It's an excellent game overall.

This FF4 is a remake of Japanese number 4 and USA snes FF2 you were talking about.
The FF3 on DS is the remake of the "real" number 3 that came out on the NES and never released in English before the DS version.
