Is there a file manager for the Wii U, one that will let me move delete files off a sd card or move files from a USB to the SD Card.

My sd slot is a bit temperamental and it doesn't like being take out and put back in so I was thinking about just copy files from a usb to the sd or deleting files directly from the sd

Nah, ftpiiu works fine for whatever you need. There's FTP clients for practically everything, if you have access to the internet on a device you can use FTP and boom, file browser.
I can't use it because I don't have a stable internet connection.

The largest game i've found is 7gb, and the parts can't exceed 4gb each.
I just think that we could really use a standard file manager for the wii u that doesn't require a ftp server to use...

...mainly because it's something that would make it incredibly easy to do simple things like manage save files, ect.

Lego city undercover is 18gb... Mochas fat32 patches will hopefully be out soon so you won't have to rely on your sd to much.
You would still have to install the games. During installation it unpacks the game and creates 2 files that are very important for the app to actually show on the wii u.

To install from usb wup installer would need fat32 support

Yes, But for the OP & many others wouldn't have to worry about having to use theyre broken/iffy sd card slots so much. I believe dimok said that homebrew apps can be loaded from USB, & the wiiu sees the fat32 usb as a wiiu formatted hdd, Both at the same time.

This thread got me thinking.... the typical reason why none of the backup loaders or installers don't use USB is because they haven't found time to implement USB FAT32 support like wuddump has done. I'm wondering why those same tools can't use the Wii U native format. It's easier for some people to plunk down installer files to Wii U USB over FTP Everywhere then it is use SD cards. Would be nice and would be relatively easy I reckon. Especially since WUP Installer already is mounting the Wii U USB device to install/copy games to. It should just look for a INSTALL directory on the root of that same device and allow you to select it as a source.

Just saying...

does ftpiiu allow u to move files to and from the virtual wii's drive as well? I tried using ftpii, the wii app, but all it showed as the sd card, NAND, and optical drive...same with wiiXplorer.

No, because it is an isolated system and not mounted until the vWii is booted.
