Hi could somebody tell me the controls for the classic controller, for example how to stift????

I have gamecube controller but I expect they're similar.

A - pass
B - shoot
Y - through ball
X - lob pass
right trigger - sprint
left trigger - send a player on a forward run

d-pad set tactics - BO=Box Overload, MR=3rd man running, CA=counter attack, WP=wing play - When defending, the d-pad has defence tactics like Pressing etc...

c-stick - tricks

Defending
A - control nearest player
B - standing tackle, I don't think there's any need to press sprint button, the player seems to sprint towards the defender when you hold B.
X - sliding tackle
Left trigger - Press with a second defender


I can't find any lob shot or 1-2 passing

I can't believe there isn't a training pitch to practice the controls and it doesn't let you use Football Academy with anything other than the Wii remote. Online has stunk the last few days, virtually every game disconnects.

2006 germany fifa world cup for GCN is a 10 times better game. I have both and the 2006 game is better in every way. Graphics, controls and more modes/ options. FIfa 09 looks likes the players are stickmen running around while the gamecube one actually looks like they're running decently.
