in FF3 in every two step you take, you have a RANDOM ENCOUNTER, ohhh.
you fight for 10 minutes, then you take two s..t...e..p...s.. AND THEN BAANG!
SQUARE ENIX GOT YOU! MOWHAHAHAH! WHERE WERE YOU GOING? YOU HAVE A RANDOM ENKOUNTER ! AND SAKAGUCHI ISNT HERE TO STOP US!
NOT ANYMORE!

Sadly, you have to fight all of the random encounters cause if you miss one, you're one battle from being able to kick the next bosses ass too. >.>

Sometimes that happens, but most of the time Its *random encounter* then *two steps* then *random encounter* and then *5 minutes of walking around without a single encounter*.

It's pretty much random.

And yes, some bosses are pretty insane if you're underleveled.

I'm saying that FFIII is hard, compared to the more recent incarnations of the series. Basically FFVI and up are all stupidly easy.

^Agreed on that. FF3 is hard, still hard even after a rebalancing on the entire game. The story is well improved over the original with the four nameless Onion Kids. It's a real shame to see people get all snobby about FF3 like it is beneath them...perhaps it's just above you as you forgot what a real turn based RPG challenge and all is about? ^-^

FAST, give me something to avoid random encounters!

and i STILL wait for something to improve speed of FFTA on GBA! (there is some Action Replay code that by pressing L will speed up FF XII, is there such way for GBA?)

I prefer FFXII Revenant Wings more only because the storyline feels more substantial to me. Although I honestly still find the storyline of FFXII Revenant Wings lacking, I still find its story line more substantial than FFIII's.

I was simply disappointed by FFIII as I was hoping to see a more substantial story line.

Of course, all this is a matter of preference and opinion, you may agree or disagree depending on your own taste. No flames please, hehe.

Random encounters AR code (no idea if it works):

Cracker did not add it to my knowledge although I dare say the optional (key combo) one hit kills of the trainer do near enough the same job.
If you really want no random encounters I will try adding it to the rom although from what I recall cracker said that space was tighter than usual.

As for FFTA I am afraid I have done nothing since your original thread: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=63297

well, i didnt really like final fantasy II but was fascinated my Final Fantasy XII Revenant Wings

so yeah, Revenant Wings

FF 3 does have cut down encounter rates. I have had the ability to walk around without getting one for a while.

But yes there are sections where its every few steps.

It is nothing as bad as the original NES encounter rate though.
