So many techy people!
People have big dreams in life some more than others. Tech industry is paying well also. :P
I have a similar thought regarding aspergers syndrome, i think its just some fair, and people can make friends normally, they just need help, i have some friends at school, but i just talk with them on school, i don't hang out with someone, i don't talk with anyone outside school, i just say in my home all the day
Is a matter of what you want, if you want friends then you have to try, some are lucky and get them on their own with just daily life activities, some look for others and try to make them. Is all about you. Do what make you happy and be comfortable about it. :)

I work in a grocery store. My departements are dairy and frozen products, I am also the supervisor of the latter.
Pretty nice job, despite it being retail (walmart anyone?).

I meet a lot of people daily, I have fun making my coworkers smile, and I enjoy what I do, therefore, it's not really a job, but a daily dose of good time in public :)

Began there at 17 years old, it's been almost 5 years now.

IT Director, pretty much do everything IT-related. Computer repair and maintenance, networking, programming, and virtualization.

I'm running most of the company strictly off of open source software. It's pretty neat, aside from a few exceptions most of the machines here are running some form of Linux / Unix. It's very rare that I have to worry about a software license for anything, and we've managed to replicate most of the features that other companies shell out big $$$ for.

Im a collage student of electronics and electricity; wanted to learn computer science or programming but didnt due to unfortunate turn of events. I learned programming (c lang.) in young age (to make videogames, obv.) and am in love with it till now. As a side job, working as a guide for a young kid (cant find a better word) who has problems with making friends and socialising. The work consists of me throwing him into the trash and playing on his pc (jk). Or just playing on his pc with him. Really fun job- 23$~ a hour for playing videogames with a kid- like a dream comes true... also learning new programming languages (py, (smile) basic, c# and asm) and new concepts of programming and computers, like encryption and ai. Btw will be really happy to get some good sites to learn this shit from... too bad im lazy af, if i wouldnt have been so lazy I would have made at least one decent game that works and is more complex then tic-tac-toe... I have like 2 projects on my imaginary shelf and have some basic code in me brain, just too lazy to write and test it... I think the community will apriciate it if I will release whats on my mind... have no known psy problems or social shit, have some friends, but sometimes am considered as the wierdo of da group (srsly, u play minecraft? lololol)

I work part-time as a writer for a website, doing gaming news and reviews, in quite a similar vein to what I do on GBAtemp. Pay isn't great, but it's alright enough for me, since I'm just taking an off year waiting to go to the University of Houston in the fall. Going for a degree in the English field, so I can hopefully become a professional writer in some form once I'm done with school. For now, I just write for peanuts and free games, and read books/play games/watch old movies to expand my horizons.

University student studying education. Currently unemployed though, hate to make excuses but my town is pretty garbage for entry-level jobs and my university schedule is hard to work around for going out of town.

Hoping something simple will turn up at some point though. I'd take it in a heartbeat.

I sell paint. Pretty much an even amount of architectural, industrial and scenic paint. The store I work in specializes in scenic paint thou and that's why I love my job. I get the ins and outs of films and tv productions taking part in my city/province. We have the largest scenic paint collection in the province (probably?). It's a pretty laid back job, things get busy in the spring/summer and slow down in the winter. I'm just a clerk but I've taken on quite a few responsibilities and my duty's are sales, warehouse/stock management, shipping and receiving, colour matching, and taking orders.

If anyone on GBAtemp needs advice on painting anything hit me up. Call me GBAtemp's coating specialist!
