Hacking FBI not installing CIA's on home screen.

Hi, I'm rocking a N3DS on 9.2 with ReiNAND installed. I have FBI in the HBL and have attempted to install it's CIA to get it on the home screen in emuNAND but it's not appearing? I tried to do the same thing for BigBlueMenu by installing it's CIA via FBI but that doesn't work either.

On both occasions in FBI they say they have installed correctly but do not appear. Any help???

It sounds like your CIA's are out-of-region, i.e. not region free patched. This is usually the cause of CIA's not showing on the homescreen.

Find and download BootNTR.CIA, install that with FBi or BBM, run it and see if all your CIA's pop-up magically.

Is this applicable to even FBI's CIA file? I haven't attempted any games etc, just the FBI CIA so I can get it on the home screen.

Sounds like you're installing .cias not designed for your region, you'll be able to see them if you're in grid launcher or have freemultipatcher installed and running.

Are BigBlueMenu and FBI defined by region? I find it strange that not even these will appear.

They aren't region defined. Do you have any cias installed on your emuNAND yet? When you go to FBI are you going straight to it without first going into emunand? If you don't already have FBI in your emunand you need to use the health & saftey app injection.

I have "Installed" first CIA, then BigBlueMenu, then I tested with region free patched Super Mario Bros 2, then I tested Monster Hunter X. All have said install successful in FBI but none appear in the Home Screen (included FBI and BBM). I coldboot into CTRManager before I reach emuNAND so I can select ReiNAND, RxTools (which I also have installed in addition to ReiNAND) or HBL etc.

No, that's what I'm saying. I access FBI through HBL to install CIA's. But these CIA's do not appear when I get to the Home Screen, despite the fact that they say they've installed correctly then ran through FBI.

If you are going straight to HBL & then FBI and installing from there they are "installing" to sysNAND. Unless I'm reading incorrectly. If you don't have FBI in your emuNAND you need to put it in with the health & safety injection.

That's what I'm doing. Install destination is SD and mode is Install CIA. Shouldn't it then just install to emuNAND without the need for H&S injection hypothetically? I can do that method anyway. I just wanted to try clear this up.

AFAIK install destination to SD does not mean emuNAND. You have to either use some sort of hax within emunand to get to HBL and use FBI or you have to inject FBI into health & safety in emunand.

NP. Good luck. Once you get health & safety to show up as FBI just use that to install BBM & FBI and all your other Cias.

Also remember to unistall mhx and super mario bros 2 from your sysnand in order to free space on your sd.

Also, in Decrypt9 I used emuNAND options to get hs_emu.app rather than hs.app in sysNAND options. Is that ok?

Edit: Appears not. Lemme try again. This time on sysNAND options.

Yup, it wasn't the clearest as it would give a different file name to the one required by the Injector. But you manually change it from hs_emu.app to hs.app in the 3DS.

So it was a success. I loaded up ReiNAND but the H&S app does nothing. Do I need to run Pasta first?

What do you mean it does nothing? I'm confused.. did you get the H&S from sysnand or emunand? You'd be working entirely within the emunand section of Decrypt9 I think
