Link to the Past has to be my all time favourite game full stop, never mind fave Zelda game..... it's just about perfect imo, and I've played through the game a good, ooh, maybe dozen times? ...And STILL never get bored of it!!

2nd goes to Wind Waker... just love this game! Still looks and plays great to this day! (dang, gonna have to fire it up again tonite now!!)

3rd would have to be a tie between the very first game (another classic that REALLY takes me back!) and Ocarina of Time.... nah imo OoT isn't the best game ever, but it's still way up the list nonetheless!

Twilight Princess?? Don't get me started... HATED that game! Completely lost the Zelda feel, they may as well called it Lord Of The Rings Link Edition for me.... 'tis a decent game, but not a decent Zelda game at all..... thank God they've moved away from it with Skyward Sword....
Most of the others are also great games by the way....... best gaming franchise ever? Without doubt imo!

I picked Twilight Princess (on gamecube)
since it was the first Zelda game I ever got,
and I think it's better than the two Zelda DS games.

Why?

So much memories (numba 1 reason

)
Great story line
Great action
Good puzzles
How it's so realistic
I love scaring people in wolf form
LOL CONTROLLING CHICKENS FTW
I never played OoT or MM, or WW

My all-time favorite is "The Legend of Zelda - Link's Awakening" on the GB. The DX version, without considering the extra color dungeon, is the best way to experience it nowadays though.

For me I have to Say OOT because it was the first time Link was shown as an adult, and it pioneered the 3d world for Zelda. In addition, this game was what got me hooked on Zelda in the first place. The story was pretty simplistic now that I look back on it, but when I first played it, the experience was just amazing. I do have to say the gameplay improved in the later installments, but it was only because they added new things, not necessarily changing things. Like being able to use your sword on Epona, or learning new moves (TP), or being able to time counter attacks (WW).

As for handhelds I have to say that I liked the Ages and Seasons series. Even though I know it was made by Capcom, it still felt like a really rich Zelda experience. Plus you could play it differently depending on what animal you chose for your partner, and which rings you equipped.

Du-Du, Du Du Du Du, Dun-Duhdu, duh-duuh du du......

Most of the Zelda games are awesome (I don't like touch screen, so the DS versions lose out), but LTTP is the first one I ever played, and holds a special place....I've also completed it several times, but the others generally only once.

I've played all of them except for the CD-i, GCN, and Wii games, and my fav is Minish Cap. It has a certain charm lacking in other Zelda games.

I voted for LoZ: LA for the GB. It's amazing (especially the DX version for GBC).

These results just prove that most GBAtemp users have only started gaming recently... Twilight Princess, Windwaker, and the DS Zelda games are nothing compared to the older LoZ games. Along with LA, I would have to say that OoT and aLttP are some of the best games ever (Majora's Mask was good too).

you should change Twilight Princess to (Wii/GCN)..
good point. i also need to change Links Awakening (GB) to Links Awakening (GB)/ Links Awakening DX (GBC)... but i dont think i can edit that poll now :\
And i also missed A Link to the Past/Four Swords (GBA)! Sorry to all fans of this!!

#1 Zelda Game is obviously "Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" anyone who says otherwise is pretty much stupid. Lets accept it, the game is too good and the replay value never gets tiring...

#2 "Link's Awakening". Nothing satisfies adventure than hunting down 8 instruments to wake a whalebird in true green monochrome graphics...

Pretty much stupid huh? Given "A Link to the Past" was a much better game than OOT, I would watch the name calling. You just make yourself look both young, and ignorant.
lol its my opinion, theres obviously other fav's for other people don't take it serious jeez didn't know people get affected by online and unknown users...

Btw responding to a post such as mine doesn't show your mature either, best case is to ignore them to avoid adding 'combustible' towards the flame... but you already knew that I didn't have to tell you so you can start practicing by ignoring this post

/ignores the post... BLAST! I never get that one right.

meh, LA is alright, but it's far from the best. The Oracle games have it beaten hands down.
