So, what's your favourite and why?

For me it would be the Thief or the Warrior, because Warriors hit high and have a good amount of HP and the Thief because he can Half Inch

Martial Artists...
They're so goddamn strong.
...
Wait where's the Martial Artist option?

Warrior and Martial Artist. Minstrel aren't that bad, but their strength is too low.

My favorites would have to be Ministrel, Priest, and Martial Artist.

Ministrels are okay fighters with okay HP, and their spells really come in handy sometimes.

Priests are great healers, and the good part about them in this game is that they aren't little wussies and can actually hit!

Martial Artists, to me, kinda break the game. Great attack, great HP, and they can take hits easily. The abilities that they get are also really powerful, so they overall dominate.

You also forgot the Armamentalist(magic knight), Gladiator, Luminary, Ranger, and Sage vocations.

I'd say the Martial Artist since they hit so hard, but I like the Minstrel too since they've got a pretty good all around stat build. I WOULD say Mage too if their multi hitting spells weren't so stupid "Hits a group of monsters." They should have added "NOT ALL OF THEM, just one or two monsters even though there are four of the same monster standing right there."

I voted everything because you didn't restrict it to one option and I am a jerk.

Seriously, though. Armamentalists.

Why?

Pimp Hat.

I voted for Paladin. The are no where near the best, but I just love the "protect others" motif.

For usefulness, though, definitely a Gladiator.

Holy epic pancakes, I never knew about the types of characters you can become in DQIX.

When I first played DQIX, I thought it was going to be boring because some of the monsters look like crap and the battles are turn-based in an odd way for some reason, but it turned out to be great when I advanced in the game. I think it's because of the awesome Storyline and the ability to dress your character up with armor and weapons that'll show when your character is walking.

Anyways, until I get to the point where I can become one of those characters in DQIX, I'll determine.

Warrior -- High hits, great hp, and a 100% crit your pants coup de' grace.

Priesticle -- Good heals, and a spell that will help you check your exp on the fly... too bad there isn't a spell for saving on the fly.

Martial Artist -- Because it sounds cool, has great stats, and can use their fists (I wish more games would put unarmed combat/fist into the game).

Gladiator -- High hits, can split helms, and a insta super saiyan transform! (they look great with crazy blond hair!

)

Gladiator: Unbeatable offense, tension boost is awesome, and blind man's biff is pure awesome.

Paladin: Forbeardance with all the defensive abilities = invincible team

Sage: Greatest amount of spells, High amount of MP great to use with M-Pathy.

Martial Artist: Fat and heavy hitter, with muti-hits(flailing nails and hard claw)

Coincidentally, this is my present team.

as soon as i unlock sage and paladin i will have to agree with you there

How can you get the other vocations? Because when I first tried to change my role, I only had 6 options, and they were like the basic roles.
