I've always been a fan of pizza, pasta, pretty much anything involving cheese in some way. But the best food I have ever tasted I experienced while on holiday in Malta. A little family run restaurant off the beaten track, made with all local ingredients. They served pizzas the size of monster truck tires for what equated to about a quid fifty with the exchange rate at the time, but the pasta...oh my god. They made me a pasta dish with local ham in a creamy blue cheese sauce, and they brought it out in a dish about the size of most plasma screen televisions. I swear, I almost came in my pants every time I took a bite. It redefined the term delicious. Utterly stunning.

Amazingly, the one night the place was closed we decided to go to the fancy place down the street. My pizza was damn near incinerated, and my mother's pasta came out with raw carrot grated on it instead of parmezan cheese. The whole place was a fuck up. It looks fancy but the food tastes like sweaty turds. Whereas the tiny place down the road was cheaper, nicer, the food was delicious and they'd bring out a plate of mini pizzas for everyone to munch on while they perused the menu. I'd happily eat there every night for the rest of my life.
