I wonder how is the art community like here

What is your favorite software to make art?
Can be on any hardware (even DS/3DS if you think so)

Mine is:
PC: Clip Studio Paint + Paint Tool SAI (CSP has 3D model for posing so it is easier to figure out anatomy etc., SAI is lightweight, easy to use and easier to make custom brushes), also MS Paint for doodles
Mobile: Ibis Paint X (free software with a lot of nice brushes, I want to try out Procreate for iOS one day if I get an iPad...)

sometimes also draw on Pokémon Art Academy's Free Paint mode or Miiverse's drawing post feature. rarely use Pictochat

What about you?

i like CSP and Krita on the computer. i used some of the 3DS apps but mostly just for little doodles, Swapdoodle mostly
for image editing i usually use GIMP or sometimes Photoshop CS6 but not that often

I like Krita for its brushes, but the only thing that kept me from using it daily is lack of 3D model like in CSP.

Define art.

I attempted hyper realism in Colors! 3D.

Then I tried GIMP, which was very good for me.
But Windows 10 updates made it painfully slow.

Then I changed to Autodesk Sketchbook in 2018, and have been using it for everything. Haven't finished anything because every time I spend my time making custom brushes with moderate success, for instance, I've successfully made Custom Brushes that mimics Color Pencils behavior, mixing and textures are not completely emulated but they work as intended. Then I made Graphite Pencils and those too have really nice textures. Then I made Oils, these are kinda eorking, because the mixing of colors are not 100% true to their behavior, but textures are great. I've also made Inking brushes and they work as intended. Watercolors are a bit tricky... same case as with Oils (textures are right, but behavior is kinda off) and I've made Copic Markers too, which works as intended, mixing colors and tectures are right.

I also... paintings I've finished gets deleted by mods because they said: "As long as you don't post Boobs and Genitals, it's okay", so I made a hyper realistic painting of a pornstar (Chloe Toy) face covered in her own juice and it got deleted. Other drawings/tests got some offended, don't know why if I painted two lesbians sharing spit and that too got deleted... fucking homophobics.

Uohh, impressive you did this on a 3DS. I never can draw anything good because of my model's tiny touch screen.

I think I have never used the other software you mentioned for drawing, maybe because I do not think of GIMP as art software (more like image editing) and I never heard of Autodesk Sketchbook

Yeah, the same was told to me about GIMP: https://gbatemp.net/threads/my-first-digital-painting-in-gimp.461086/

(PS: That was my first account and I personally asked DinohScene to ban me, I remember I told him that if he didn't banned me I would start posting porn)

About Autodesk Sketchbook, it no longer exists since it separated from Autodesk. Now it's just called Sketchbook Pro.

Krita, it's free and has traditional like brushes by default, better than photoshop for illustrations
