Hacking FAT or FAT32?

So, I read the sticky and wiki for the supercarddsonei and didn't see this answered but I was wondering how to check if my microsd card is FAT or FAT32 or whatever format that is compatible with the flash card? I'm on a macbook if that makes a difference...

MicroSD should be FAT, MicroSDHC should be FAT32, as laid out in the SD Association's Specifications.

For flash media, FAT16 was the most commonly used filesystem. But without violating any rules, it can only be used up to 2047MB. Many FAT drivers support FAT16 filesystems of up to 4095MB, but you should be aware that you use this at your own risk. Attention: Windows XP will format any volume of 512MB or larger with FAT32. Be sure to specify FAT16 if you want to create a FAT16 filesystem.
