for no reason at all since i've installed cfw on my ps3, fans sometimes goes crazy and becomes very noisy and i noticed that it says that it's at 38% fan speed (and 68°C for gpu and 65% for cpu) but that cannot be true or else this would mean that even when i played killzone 3 or others it stayed lower than 38%. what could i possibly do to make it become a little bit quiter

You might try and repaste both the cpu and rsx and if that doesn't work then do a delid. Also set fan speed to manual 35% or syscon, this is in webman.

I entered this thread thinking it was political. Have you tried the fan test / self clean thing? Unplug, then while holding Eject, plug it back in.

As others have suggested, I would take this as a sign you console may need to maintenance, simply renewing the thermal paste and cleaning out the console may suffice but you may discover the paste between the die and IHS is no longer need to be renewed, meaning a delid is the only long term solution

The ps3 cooling fan doesn't always have to spin hard to be loud. It could be degrading, but not completely broken due to wear and tear, given how old such consoles are at this point

Good point, i recall reading a post once where someone discovered that certain fan revisions can be modified to allow oiling and it made a notable difference in the volume of the fan
