I wonder if this is related to the TX exploit?

Just like PS3, Wii U and now the switch. FoF won't release anything as it eventually leads to piracy.

They did release stuff for the PS3 IIRC, but additional stuff was released by Geohot which more directly lead to piracy.

Didn't they release the Wii U exploit eventually?
Pff no, it took a separate team to figure out what they did and release it (after years of working on it privately). The original Fail0verflow hack only ever existed within their team as far as I know

but the wii u never had any commercial back up enabling products ever released for it, no chip and no ODE
the ps3 had the OG JB dongle which was short lived and probably motivated them to release some of their work for it
they say " to all switch hax0rs" and "interesting times ahead"
they know Xecuter has something in the works , maybe sky3ds team also , they know backups are already inevitable
they will release something eve if it is through back channels

Huh nice animation
anyway i'm not hyped about switch hacking, i want it but i'm not all over it
Emulators : got on my PC
Homebrew : Got on my pc

The only thing i would like it for is portability and piracy and even i'm not that hyped there isn't so much good games on the switch that i can't afford them all so yeh

Highly unlikely that they will release anything soon

An example of how they operate from the PS4 scene:

- PS4 OFW 4.06 was released on November 2016
- 4.06 patched an exploit that fail0verflow had in their possession
- fail0verflow waited until October 2017 (11 months) to publish a write-up about the exploit, not the exploit itself
- another dev (Specter) used their findings and made/released an actual exploit (took another 2 months)

the box its on says "zedboard"

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

So now we have 4 teams working on the switch
-plutoo
-fof
-reswitched
-xe
fof never released anything on the wiiu and they had everything early on.
unfortunately their reputation makes the post mean nothing. but maybe because sales are good they might release something

Hopefully it's a 3.0.0(+) exploit

I wouldn't hold your breath, they didn't release anything for Wii U either. As exciting as it is to see more hacking potential for Switch...yeah.

it says "interesting times ahead"

plus there is one commercial product on the way and another one rumored from sky3ds
it looks like it will get released one way or another

Didn't they say the same thing for the Wii U hacking scene?

Inb4 1.0.0 only coldboot :creep:

Pretty sure plutoo was going to take a break after 34c3.

Edit:

So maybe he's taking a break? Kind of hard to tell if he's joking or not.

I want to be excited, believe me, but we should contain our excitement until we know what firmware this will run on, if ever released.
But isn't that literally every Nintendo circle you go through? Exploit gets found - being optimistic - your console is on a higher firmware - throwing a fit - trying to sell old hardware - leash out - get depressed - leash out more - another exploit - apology - optimistic again

It's failoverfl0w, they don't release jack. Just the good old teasing of "I have it, but you can't because my mom said so nenenenene". Wait for the chip since there's no way in hell that whatever they have will work on your firmware.

Yeah, yeah, I've heard it all before, and you're more than welcome to add me to your ignore list. So sorry my posts rub you the wrong way. Anyways, Team Overflow hasn't released a bloody thing for either Wii U and won't for this, fact. And as far as the hard mod, I'll pay someone to solder on the modchip before I do it myself.

I love this. And i never saw FoF as people whom never release anything. I always saw them as someone whom teases us with what can be. If people are willing, this is what is posaible. I like that attitude because it can lead to new developers joining in. Thats at least my take.

Who cares what these guys have, even if it's good they won't release it anyway.
I remember you that TX have already stated their solution works on all the fw so better wait them.
