With the excellent and easy to install wonderswan IPS screens, the community is lacking a readily available and affordable flash cart for the system. Is there any desire to create a product for this under appreciated handheld?

Never say never but "under appreciated handheld" and it not being a GBA, DS or GBC or something they had to tangle with emulation for over the years means I would not hold my breath.

since it's a 100% japanese handheld, i guess there just isn't enough interest in the west
even the Neo geo pocket had some western release and it got flash carts (flashmasta or everdrive)
but to be honest, i have never seen any neogeo pocket retail , although it was officially released in EU
gameboy ruled everywhere

but if someone were to fan translate uzumaki - noroi simulation for the WS, my interest would rise considerably :)

Yeah I figured it was worth bringing up with since, at least in my circles, the new screens have driven lots of people to finally picking one up. With the weird and funky shape of the WS and the button lay out it feels more like one of those that is best suited to emulation.

The more interest in it and accessibility, the more people would be willing to dive in to translations.

As for the fashmasta, a couple of people have this one and it is pretty far off from an everdrive or an ex flash solution. Compatibility still isn't there and there is limited storage space so games need to be loaded 10-12 at a time. It also isn't always available.

To make accessories for a product with a very low market share, the problem is that in order to reduce development costs, the selling price will be very high, which brings new problems is that it is not sold at all.

So I went and had a look at the hardware requirements
http://daifukkat.su/docs/wsman/#cart_over

Potential for multiple types of bankswitching, real time clock, IO http://daifukkat.su/docs/wsman/#cart_gpo , and that is not covering the wonderwitch stuff, as well as wondergate if the would be flash cart maker needs one to test various compatibilities with.
If you were then going for a "plays every type of game" rather than "can be used to make a piece of homebrew" the bankswitching, RTC and IO making this more than the a basic chip and call it a day thing like some other devices.

I bought a flash masta. It's good, but has compatibility issues. The devs do release ips patches though which fixes things like saving issues.

Contact the team. I did and they had one in stock. I got mine that way.
I tried sending a message on the Flash Masta facebook page but got no response. That was over a month ago. I just sent a "sales inquiry" thru their website. Dunno why I never noticed a contact form before and only the "Notify" list... Guess we'll see if I get a response.

Thanks for the tip.
