I have a new EZFlash V(i) cartridge from DealExtreme for a DS Lite. Someone loaded the EZFlash V kernel (not the one your supposed to use for the EZ Vi) onto it. It loaded up one game (barely) and complained about sector 0 being bad several times (I may be missing some details, this was related to me by a friend). Now the cartridge is not recognized with or without the transflash memory. I tried reformatting the memory (Panasonic SD formatter). Loading the right software. Tried a different memory chip. The extra paper in the cartidge trick. All to no avail. Other carts work in this DS and this cart works is recognized by none. Sounds like its bricked. I will probably need to return it to DealExtreme but I would rather fix it than deal with the long wait until a new one is returned.

There was a way to de-brick the fake DSTT's. Maybe there is something that can be done here.

Any help appreciated.

Not way if it's an old kernel with bootstrap update that has been booted on EZ5i. A wrong boot code is inside the flash memory beside the xilinx now.

I have seen another case like this. The guy has tried k1.70 on his EZ5i. After the bootstrap update (whites lines you can see at the end of youtube video) his ez5i was bricked.

For instant there is no way to unbrick it.

I kinda figured I had little recourse but the users of this board have been so helpful in the past I was hoping someone had some knowledge or a suggestion that might help.

Thanks.
