Probably using a Mii backup tool (Waninkoko's or Savegame Manager GX), restoring them on Vwii, and using the WiiU mode bulk Mii upgrader

Wait what?
1. Transfering Miis from vWii to Wii U is pretty easy. Enter Mii Maker and click on "Send/Receive Mii" to copy all vWii Miis over to Wii U.
2. Transfering Miis from a Wii to a Wii U needs the Wii and the vWii of the Wii U to be softmodded. Use Mii Extractor on Wii and Mii Installer on vWii to transfer your Miis via SD card. Then proceed with my first step above.

I guess I'm gonna have to softmod the vWii just for Mii's.... o well

If you want to transfer the Miis from your Wii to your vWii, why not copy the Miis onto your Wii Remotes, and then paste them on your vWii.

does this really work? where do you go to paste them in vWii?
There should be a button in Mii Maker somewhere labelled "Wii Remote Transfer" or something like that. It should be on the front screen of Mii Maker.

(Mii Channel, not Mii maker. Sorry.)

Yes that works but since a mote can only store a very few Miis the homebrew solution might be better if you have a bunch of them.

Of course you could spend some time by using the Wiimote as a bucket to transfer them over step by step.
