Hacking EZ Flash Vi with DSi XL?

Presently I'm using my EZ Flash Vi in a DS Lite, but I'm thinking if getting a DSi XL.

Does EZ Flash Vi in its final iteration work on a DSi XL? Or am I better off sticking with what I've got?

No to the first part and No to the second.

You can keep using that flashcart in the DS Lite, just not in anything newer like a 3DS/XL/LL. Any 3DS/XL/LL you buy will likely have a firmware that will not support the EZ-Flash Vi.
