EZ Flash Omega won't read save?

I've been playing Pokemon Crystal (using a kernel from the "New Theme for EZ-Flash Omega!" post) and saving worked great for days after I figured it out. Save in-game, wait 5 seconds, open menu with L+R, wait 5 seconds again, then exit or turn off. This morning I opened the game and it acted as if I never saved at all, like there's nothing there. I went into sd card on my computer and I see a Crystal esv file in there, but I guess it isn't loading it? Unless that's a blank placeholder file? I'm not sure. Any suggestions? I'd rather not have to go through all that again-
