Hacking GBA Ez flash omega Bad NOR ID

I just got an Ez flash omega for the gba and i was using it but accidentaly deleted the loader and I had some problems until i used some recovery file on youtube to get it back and now it boots up but my problem is that when I try to update to a newer version it says "Bad NOR ID". I don't know why. Can anyone please help me?

EDIT: The updates were working fine before actually doing this

If you performed a loader recovery process. please you are using the newest recovery file. some older recovery file will not recognize the NOR id properly.

Please ensure you get the recovery file for OMEGA, not the one for Definitive Edition.

Indeed I think I was using some sort of old recovery file, when I tried this one it worked fine and now updates.

@EZ-Flash2 , Hi, I'm afraid I have mistakenly used the OMEGA recovery file instead of the DE recovery file on my EZ-Flash DE. The cartridge still says "BAD Nor ID" while trying to update the kernel. Is this fixable, or can my DE never update anymore?

First off you can try their emergency recovery process which you can use to restore the correct firmware. This operates independently of firmware/kernel and is part of the initial bootloader stored on SPI chip which is it's own thing so should work regardless of how messed up firmware/kernel is:

If this fails and you have a Nintendo DS/DS Lite and a slot-1 flashcart you can give this homebrew I created a try if the official recovery stuff hasn't worked for you:

Specifically the DE nds file if you have Omega DE. This will flash the cart regardless of what version it is so be sure to use the correct one!

Thank you very much for your help! I already tried the emergency recovery process, this is where I messed up using the OMEGA image instead of the DE image. My EZ flash DE is functional, it plays ROMS from the SD card, except for the NOR ID which it doesn't recognize (so no save states etc.) and also I can't update to the latest kernel of SimpleDE.

Unfortunately I don't have a Nintendo DS, would have been great if I could've fixed it that way.
