Hacking EyeToy on PS2 Classics

Hey

I've wanted to play EyeToy Play after at least 13 years again and converted the game to a PS2 Classic. Unfortunately, the camera does not seem to be supported. :/
Is there a way to get the EyeToy Camera working? That would be really great.

Use the PS2 hardware mode if your PS3 has it (or better yet for PS2 softare, get an actual PS2)

My PS2 died years ago, and I have PS3 Slim. That means I am out of luck for now.
