Hacking Extracting old games from a used PS3?

I got a used PS3 on eBay, and the previous owner clearly didn't even think twice before selling it. First thing it did was attempt to connect to PSN with the still-stored username and password...

Going to delete that information for them, but what I also noticed is that it had about a dozen digital versions of games and several dozen digital-only games still installed on the HDD.

Since I plan to reformat this thing and set it up for CFW, as well as install a new larger HDD so I can do a system transfer fro my old failing PS3, is there any way I can somehow extract these games so I can re-install them once I am done setting up the PS3 system for myself?

yes, use an ethernet cable to ftp back and forth or use the eid_root_key (can be retrieved with rebug toolbox), remove the hdd, then extract the content on the pc. all you need to do then is transfer the content back on to the larger hdd and rebuild the database. first, though, use something like reactpsn to convert your rif (activation keys) to rap to be reinstalled with say psnpatch (requires the act.dat of the user or reactpsn to have one created for you). those would be your two best options well, you can also do a system transfer via an ethernet cable as well.

So then to do this would it be easier to install the CFW on the existing HDD, or the new one? It's currently running OFW. The HDD key will change if I replace the HDD, right?

Also, how would I go about reinstalling the CFW after I replace the HDD? I am not sure how you would do that if you have CFW instead of OFW installed.
