my ar dsi comes out with a platinum backup of 513kb, though the saves online are 512kb....help?
If memory serves the first couple of bytes are a header the AR adds on to the save (name in unicode and a few other bits of info mainly). You can trim it by hand if you want.
Any online save converter ( http://saves.uniquegeeks.net/g/index/page.aspx?id=14 and http://www.shunyweb.info/convert.php ) can handle it, there is an old tool cory1492 made years called max2sc as well but I am not sure if it handles 512K saves ( http://nds.cmamod.com/files/max2sc.zip ).
What FAST means with trimming by hand is opening the file in a hex editor and look if you see at the end of the file any repeated values (you can usually see them on the left side), usually these filler bytes are either 00 or FF. Although it is very unlikely, you should check if the last bytes aren't repeated, because this might mean that these filler bytes are needed, because the code stops at the end of the file.
Just use Shuny's page. There is an option to convert duc/dss to sav (use no$gba or ttds/r4/etc)
