gamestop didnt have a pickup option when my wife preordered mine. so with 1 day shipping i wont have it till monday
will probably immediately get it hardmodded. then dump otp for arm9loaderhax.

I've heard about hardmodding. but apparently you need to sauder some wires.

was exactly is the benefit of hardmodding?

having the ability to backup and restore sysnand at any point no matter what you do to screw it up. plus you can downgrade from 10.4+, and dumping otp for arm9loaderhax becomes less of a risk

As long as the mod itself doesn't fail (which is unlikely as long as you or the person you hire does a good job on it, and you don't abuse your console), you're immune to bricks and can upgrade and downgrade sysNAND at will as long as you have backups made (and, if you're getting a hardmod, you're more than likely going to have at least one). You also gain the side-benefit of being able to downgrade 10.4-10.6's NATIVE_FIRM from the one from 10.3, meaning you can then further downgrade to 9.2 and get CFW.

Well how else will you recover? The system connects online and downloads fresh titles IE the newest versions.

I wasnt sure how the recovery worked. I havent downgraded before. But that sucks.

Not so sure I wanna buy a N3DS now :s
