The annual fighting game tournament EVO has unveiled its lineup for this year's event. You can expect to see ever-popular games such as Street Fighter V: Championship Edition, Skullgirls: 2nd Encore, and Mortal Kombat 11: Ultimate, alongside smaller franchises like Granblue Fantasy Versus and Melty Blood: Type Lumina. The full lineup is as follows:

Street Fighter V: Champion Edition
Guilty Gear: Strive
Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate
Tekken 7
The King of Fighters XV
Melty Blood: Type Lumina
Dragon Ball FighterZ
Granblue Fantasy Versus
Skullgirls 2nd Encore

Noticeably missing from EVO 2022's lineup is any Super Smash Bros. game. This is because Nintendo chose to withdraw any and all Smash Bros. titles from EVO going forward, ending a partnership that had lasted since 2007.

EVO 2022 will take place from August 5-7, and will be hosted at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

That's only if they are close minded, and don't understand the benefits of Smash being in Evo. Smash brings a lot of viewers to Evo since there is a HUGE fanbase for that game. More viewers mean more people seeing other fighting games, and could also lead to more new people getting into those games.

It's sad that Nintendo don't allow Smash to be in Evo as it might help increase the sells to Smash. Well, at least Skullgirls made it in in its place. There was a time when Smash Melee and Skullgirls fans were competing to get their game into Evo via to see who can raise the most money for charity. I miss those times.

I was really just making a joke about how Smash tournaments in particular are infamous for the B.O. that comes from many of the attendees. I remember Kotaku even ran a whole article on the phenomena lol.

Honestly, I don't care for a single game on that lineup, I'd rather watch GGXXAC+R, GG Xrd Rev. 2, MvC2, KoF 11 and SF3.3S
Maybe KoF15, since it apparently does not suck as much as 12-14.

Edit: Just figured out thanks to another poster that the event is physical, so who cares about the official lineup? Side tourneys were always the meat of EVO to me.
