European Tomadachi Life crashing on opening on a US New 2DSXL

so I've been wanting to mod Tomodachi life on my 3ds but the thing wont run! help?
I get to the splash screen after opening it but it crashes right after!

Try an US version of the game.

uh, I forgot to edit this or whatever you d when you solve it but I needed to change the locale to Europe
also I cannot mod the US version

There is US version, I just tried mine it ran fine without changing any locale.

I wanted to use mods, the US versions Luma directory has a bug and doesn't work
