Homebrew eShop title tickets?

I know how to install retail games and how to get them. But when I go on "a certain ticket site" I am unable to download the .tik files. Is there a reason for this or can I only install retail games?

You need sig patches to install eShop games. It doesn't give you a title.tik as the title.tik is only given for legit game that don't need cfw.

You can use FunKiiU or any of the frontends available for it.

I'm trying to use WUP installer on my Wii U but it doesn't let me install it. Do I need CFW? If so, what's the easiest CFW to install and is it autoboot?

You need cfw to install eshop (as mentioned in my post). Simple sig patcher is the easiest but it can't autoboot. If you want autoboot cfw then use CBHC's cfw

If I used sig patcher on the game and installed it on CFW do I hhave to go back to CFW to play the game every time or just to install it?

After each reboot you have to boot cfw to play it. Unless you install CBHC which then it loads cfw while your wii u boots.

Gotcha. Just to recap, I install CFW autoboot then I can go into WUP installer and install my game?

Yes you install CBHC and it will allow you to boot any game
