Hacking eShop error code 005-2008

Before you ask, yes I've searched Google and yes I've looked at similar posts. A specific one (that I can't link bc my account is too young) had a solution that I tried but I'm still getting the error. Basically I'm trying to update Shovel Knight Treasure Trove so I can have the King of Cards DLC. I backed up a CIA from the cartridge (which I lost a few months ago) and I installed that cia to the 3DS. I used freeShop to update the game, since using the regular eShop to update didn't seem to work. I deleted all unused tickets as someone said in that post but I'm still getting the error.

Of course deleting unused tickets won't work, that ticket is being used. You will have to uninstall the title and ticket in FBI, then install the update through the eShop like normal.

but won't that require me to reinstall the whole game? I already deleted the title and ticket for the update, so i assume you mean the title and ticket for the actual game
