eShop access on OFW

If I have CFW set up on on my emuMMC with Nintendo servers blocked, would I be able to access the eShop safely on stock firmware, or should I just buy physical game cartridges?

both as long as you keep stock separate from emunand and don't install anything on it you can use it like a normal switch
