Homebrew error upon loading Smash 4?

Whenever I try to load Super Smash Bros. 4 on my O3DS, I get a lovely error that states:
"An error has occurred (ErrDisp)
Error type: generic
Process ID: 15
Process name: menu
Process title ID: 0x0004003000008fo2

Address: 0x0022958
Error code: 0xc8804497



Press any button to reboot."


I'm posting this here in hope that somebody is smarter than I at this stuff. I have tried everything like enabling game patching and whatnot, none of it works. I'm on Luma 9.1 and my 3DS is on 11.9.

I'm using a physical copy of Smash.
