so in jk save manager im trying to extract a save and i get a error message when trying to extract the save from a cartridge, and the message says "error opening save archive!" any help?

You have to rename the .sav file to the title ID of JKSM (which is 0004000002C23200)

For gateway you need to use SDF, and follow this: https://gbatemp.net/threads/importing-gateway-saves-to-cia-games.425743/
