Hello,
I'm trying to repair a PS4.
When I try to reinstall I have the error ce-35888-2 after replacing the motherboard.

I understood the daughter board is link to the mainboard and I didnt find a way to fix it.

Is it without hope ?

Rgds

afaik, like the ps3, the ps4 won't update if there's an issue with the bd drive, so that would be my assumption. I'm not sure of the specifics though as my bd drive has never had a problem, and I haven't replaced the mobo either.

Yeah, It seems there is no way. the current firmware is 8.5, I think if it was older it could have work. So sad to have this issue :/

I don't know the specifics of marrying the bd drive to a new board, but I assume it's more a pita than on the ps3, since the ps4 has tighter security after sony really messed up the security of the ps3. lol

It's only to make their "After service" expensive, my point of view.... :)

I don't know if there's a way to fix this problem or not.

It can be fixed, but you need the original daughter board that went with the one you installed into the PS4. If you don't have it or is unable to get the original DB that went with that present working motherboard, the ps4 can't update... until future exploits are hopefully developed to get around this.
