It's not just opinion when this is clearly unprecedented. they don't ban for homebrew as fav title, or multi use of same headers, or, until now, the use of software before release. any bans for those reasons were small scale and rare. the only difference here is cheating. and they didnt begin the ban until the cheating happened. so my "opinion" is based on deductive reasoning.

Hey, if you wouldn't mind testing, could you see what happens if you create an unlinked emunand on your clean(unbanned) console, and see if the FriendCodeSeed is different than the sysnand?

To be fair, it feels like a hassle and rather not do it; I already have an emunand on that device.

I did dump the friendcode from that emunand (its a different emunand, and region changed),
and blimey, the friendcodebin is the same, even though it was formatted for region changing then (i changed the US region to KOREA).

So it's safe to say even if I were to reformat, it may be the same..
(unless it was a format problem, and I formatted the same amount of times from base fw4.5, then sure..)

1. Does it count to be online if you go to the festival plaza without wireless on?
2. Are there ways to bypass ban/permaban?
3. Can i go online when the game releases? If not, when?
4. Should i download the cia from the freeshop when the game releases?

1. supposedly no, but people have reported bans. maybe they went online by mistake
2. 0102, bypass yes, 2812, temp bypass yes.
3. if you're already banned, may have to wait
4. perhaps. I'm preloading with FBI and waiting for seed.

2. they're working in it, but it may be unlikely
3. after the game releases you should be fine.
4. I personally would use freeshop. any installed cia uses the console for header info, so they wouldnt know if it's pirated or not anyway.

i just unbanned myself from online play by replacing my LocalFriendCodeSeed_B with a friend's one and reseting my friend code.
We can both play online at the same time and stuff so it looks like nobody loses anything

To put more detail on quesion no.3...
Wouldn't nintendo or GF know by the amount of hours i played?

Example: Game released 10 hours ago,
My save file says 20 hours of gameplay.

They can't see any of that though. There are cheats out already that could edit your playtime to 999:99, theres no way to tell.

and you can edit your save game to change the beginning to any date as well

Cheaters can also edit their save game to have 100% completion. then they don't have to play at all, and the rest of us wouldn't have anything to worry about.

Apparently you are renting the copy if you buy through the Eshop. It says it so in the terms of service.

Now that you went the pirate and hack way you can only expect to follow the pirate and hack way from now on when consequences have fallen upon you. You got perma banned? You will have to use that 3ds the hack way full way. Seems fair imo.

I wiped the game off my 3DS two days ago yet got both the bans mentioned regardless, thing is I only accidently turned on festival plaza, was originally going for the save button when I noticed it wasn't saving. Here's to hoping it's only temporary.


EDIT: Does dumping my NAND with FBI work as a proper back up? Don't want to make any accidental fuck ups with tiny format
