PS1/2 epsxe and some minor windows 7 annoyances

When I'm playing a game on the emulator when I press F1 to save state windows changes its color scheme to windows basic, it doesn't affect gameplay but it just happens.
and after I close the emulator it gives me a message that the program crashed, also not affecting any setting or anything.

Why are those things keep happening ?
If there isn't any solution then its fine.

I have Windows 7 Ultimate x64.

Try using compatibility mode.

Are you using any custom theme? I've had some problems like this when I used custom visual styles on Windows XP.
