ROM Hack Entering Gateway Mode

So my 2DS doesnt have a theme option as it is on 6.x, will the old method of holding L with the gateway files to boot to the menu still work to set everything up?

or must i use menuhax and HBL and such?

I am not sure because gateways new manual doesnt show any other method besides menuhax

You can either go to go.gateway-3ds.com through your brower or load the GW homebrew app through HBL.

Unless you have a nand mod...DO NOT UPDATE TO 10.5!!! If you update to 10.5, you'll need a nand mod to downgrade back. Gateway mode does not boot on anything past 9.2 right now and the software only downgrade methods only work on 10.3 or less. A nand mod is needed to downgrade FIRM partitions on NAND to 10.2 to even allow proper downgrades again. So don't update to 10.5.
