I have a ps4 with 4.05 HEN, I wanted to watch a movie today and was greeted with a msg regarding enabling playing via online...

Is there a hack to this? Or is it safe to hook up the internet to enable this feature?

Also in debug setting menu I took a pic of maybe something that might enable it.... is this right?
Should I mess with this?

Thanks.

@karloz25

Good shout, this is an interesting point.

I would like to know too.

Have you tired toggle those on?

I would guess with internet on, and auto updates off, it should activate.

Would be nice to have a BDactivator payload handy though for those who want to stay entirely offline.

Just tried it and crashed my ps4 and shut it down.

Update:
Working now after enabling internet for a bit before loading the dvd.

Ya pretty simple (aside from the crashes and errors)

PS4 Console On
Ran HEN
Update Blocker V2 (or V1)
Turned Internet ON (removed DNS)
Inserted DVD
Waited a short time (seconds really)
DVD Launched
Exited DVD
Turned OFF Internet
Reapplied DNS
Tested DVD
Profit

One of the sites that weren't blocked on the school's network was some file uploading sites. I would upload some games, write down the URL and take it to school one day.

It was easy to bypass some of the restrictions, as one of the admins left a registry key in the administrative shares drive, which allowed me to get around the blocking of some sites.
