I took over my daughters 3ds XL, but forgot it had parental controls and didnt think much of it. I know the PIN, but when I wanted to play Tomodachi Life JPN it asked for the PIN. Not that big of a deal, but I was wondering if it was safe... or how to safely turn off parental controls in my situation. I dont want to accidentally get into a problem like Data Management deleting all my CIA and stuff.

How should I approach this?

You should be fine, parental controls != data management. Also that game is E rated, how young is your daughter to not be able to play E rated games?

I dunno dude.. I set it up and didnt even think about it. It was going to be hers. I didnt bother with parental controls on her n3ds though

It doesn't ask for the PIN because of the age range, it's something to do with it being a different region game. You're playing a JP game on a US console right? It will do the same for all different region games.

I didnt do that for Hexen Besen 2 and thats a German game..

i have same problem. with my JPN 3ds, it ask everytime when i start game. some game doen't ask but i dont know what is problem.
not because of region, or game age rating, it ask me PIN code. i double checked parental control but didn't work.
