I'm considering buynig a DS but I want to know is there an emulator that you can put on your DS to play games from previous gameboys, such as the original and the colour?

P.S. I'm British which is why theres its spelt coloUr

The GBC was called Gameboy 'Color' even in the UK.

Anyway, for GB and GBC use Lameboy 0.12. For GBA you need a slot-2 device for DS/DSLite or an iPlayer for DSi.

Yes there are, you can play gameboy (colour), snes, nes etc.
But no gba.

ps. welcome to the forums.

There is a gba emulator... but it only works on the iplayer flascart because it needs the extra cpu power.
Cant remmeber wht it was called tho gba2ds i think not to sure its here on gbatemp tho

Just because it was spelt in multi-coloUr letters doesn't mean thats nthe way you spell it...

Kool thank you.

No, you misunderstand. Gameboy Color wasn't a description of the console, it was the registered trademark name. The official name of the handheld console you refer to is a 'Gameboy Color' no matter how the word 'colour' is spelt in other parts of the world.

Look stop being a fool of a took and just accept that ill spelt it with a big capital U every time and theres no reasoning or logic no matter how infaluble or logical or sensible will ever make me change that

This isn't strictly accurate. The iPlayer is in no way for the DSi; it's equally compatible (perhaps more so counting updates which lock out flash cards) with an older DS model.

My apologies. I was in no way implying that the iPlayer was exclusively for the DSi, only that the iPlayer is currently the only way to play GBA games on the DSi.

...and you'll look a complete cunt every time you do so. Well done.

Has anyone here specified that he needs to get a flash card anyway? A DS by itself isn't going to play any GB or GBC games.

You need to learn how to type and spell. And until you do that, you have no reason to criticize the way anyone else spells anything, especially when he's right. It is called a Gameboy Color no matter where you are, who you are, or what your spelling prefrences are. It's a product, names are not bound to a correct english spelling.

I'm currently imagining how much of a success you'd be if you were a webmaster.

GAME BOY COLOR
For some reason I thought this was the official logo when I first saw it. But then I realized that it was just colored text.
