Emulator dryspell?

I am not just talking about Nintendo, but everything. It seems that there aren't many revisions coming out. Is the high compatibility with most emulators the cause? Most play almost everything now. What is the reason for the slowdown? Not as many new games that are good so that people are getting bored with their systems?

I don't think there's such a thing as an emulator dry spell.

i don't know much about the rest of the consoles...
for DS wise

desmume and ideas is still pretty much alive
no$gba is dead for sure but with proper setup it should play not all but most of the games

I am talking about all the emulators. For playing on the PC and playing on the Wii and DS. It is all related to site discussions because all of them are discussed here IMO better than any other site. The PC emulators pretty much originate what ends up in our Wii emulators. Most of what we have for Wii is a PC port of some kind. This site is pretty much based on emulation, homebrew, and modding. And rather than posting in each individual category, I am merely asking a question on all content as a whole. That is why I posted here.

I am not complaining that there is not much coming out lately. Just wondering why. I definitely appreciate all the devs work. If you compare right now to te last year and a half, there seems to be a big slowdown on new revisions.

So not, it's NOT site discussions and suggestions. This section is for discussing issues affecting the site, like general revisions to the mechanics and layout. I've all reported this thread to a mod to be moved to General Console Discussions or the like so don't worry, we all make mistakes

And people aren't gonna really develop emulators from scratch when you can just port them to the Wii. And they work with much success. NES, SNES, etc emulators are ports of PC ones and work fine. N64 and PSX are getting there but it'll take time. Mind you devs don't have the resources of a full company like Nintendo does when it made its emulators for the Virtual Console.

I don't see anything to complain about, these emulators are free and made for the community. Be thankful we have any at more, complaining about it is pretty silly. And if you don't like emulation on the Wii, use a PC. Even crappy PCs can emulate pretty much most things up to PSX/N64 perfectly. My shitty laptop from like 5 years ago can emulate N64 and PSX at full speed.
