Hi,

Can I boot into GW mode/EmuNAND >8.x (4.5 Emunand) without the GW card using an old launcher.dat ? (2.01 or something?)

I have a NAND mod & a raspberry so I can unbrick if anything goes wrong.
I just want to boot to 4.5 emunand and launch my 4.5 CIA games without using this crappy CFW that only boots when it wants.

Thanks

nope only way to boot up 8.x+ emunand is with the MT launcher thats buggy on 9.5 and still wont let you boot up non legit cia files, or with Rxtools, which works great with 9.5, but again no non-legit cia files will run

so the buggy cfw is the only way to play roms and is limited to 4.x emunand only

lets you use 9.5 emunand without any cards, first time that has been possible for 2DS users.....plus a whole bunch of other cool stuff to do with nand decryption etc

Rxtools is a nifty thing in progress. Has so much in a package and even has emunand. Waiting for the mset 4.x to be tested and released by roxas as it would be great once that happens.

    Hello!

@ZucchiniMaiden, maybe I didnt notice bc I have been offline due to internet connection issues
  • Kirbydogs @ Kirbydogs:
Say, anybody have Supermium? The browser? Windows Security recently flagged it as "Trojan:Win32/Vigorf.A"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    @Kirbydogs, nobody uses it
  • Kirbydogs @ Kirbydogs:
yeah, neither do I, I just have it on my computer because it works on XP
  • ZucchiniMaiden @ ZucchiniMaiden:
No, I only use Firefox forks. What's your use-case of Supermium in 2025? Are you using it on old hardware?
  • ZucchiniMaiden @ ZucchiniMaiden:
    Ah okay, XP.
  • Kirbydogs @ Kirbydogs:
I notice that this was an installation EXE in my VM folder
  • ZucchiniMaiden @ ZucchiniMaiden:
If you're using an up to date version that was distributed by the official github then I doubt it was a trojan. It might have security vulnerabilities though.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@ZucchiniMaiden, I still use Chrome on PC while I use Opera on Android
  • ZucchiniMaiden @ ZucchiniMaiden:
@Xdqwerty Cool. It's a safe browser, I just don't like the ethics of Chrome and prefer to support Firefox.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
So assuming it could be tied to a pirated version of the os you installed on the vm
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@ZucchiniMaiden, and bc I don't wanna be scolded for changing stuff on my PC

Anytime you come across a suspicious file, a detected threat, suspect a file detection may be a possible false positive or you want a second opinion, submit it to one of the online services that analyzes suspicious files for possible malware.

I installed a Windows XP ISO onto a VM and used a fake product key, as does everybody else, so my best bet is that it's either a false positive or Windows XP having terrible security.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
The product key generator could be tied to mailware like mentioned in the links
  • Kirbydogs @ Kirbydogs:
No, just found product keys in a list on archive.org
  • Kirbydogs @ Kirbydogs:
whatevs, Security removed it from my device

    There you go
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@K3Nv3, Cloud scanners often interpret machine learning to understand the inner workings of a program and checks to see if functionality compares to how malware operates. Hence why it's not always accurate and you get false positives such as W32.Wacatac.
    +1

It's interesting that the ISO came with the browser though, is it also pre-loaded with other stuff?
  • Kirbydogs @ Kirbydogs:
now, back to what I was doing last night: going insane because Firefox can't set the new tab page to your custom new tab page-- apparently as a security issue
