Electroplankton Re-Released as DSiWare

Bite-sized chunks of Nintendo and Toshio Iwai's musical software Electroplankton are coming to DSiWare, with four of those releases hitting Japan this week. Each will feature a specific Electroplankton for Nintendo DSi owners to experiment with.

Eventually, Nintendo has plans to release all ten Electroplankton via the DSi download service, doling each out 200 Nintendo DSi Points at a time. At that price point, it might simply be worth your time and money to buy the online retailer-only release of Electroplankton—if you can find a copy, that is.

Of course, 200 DSi Points is a small drop in the bucket. You may get your fill of experimental musical toys with a single download, saving you the hassle of grabbing a used copy on eBay.

I feel bad for the people who have retail copes of the game. Retail copies of Electroplankton have become pretty rare, selling for upwards of 100 bucks. All that will end with the DSiWare release, though...

A complete Electroplankton would be good. But, think about the Club Nintendo points that you'll get also!

No, enthusiasts prefer hard copies over just files. It's like saying, there's no point in paying 500 dollars for a copy of Earthbound because anyone can play it on an emulator.

When you have the game on a cartridge, it's a piece of matter, which isn't what DSiware is.

Lol. This reminds me of the Japanese version of Electroplancton at my Gamestop that was $70 used. I asked the clerk "why is this 70 bucks?". He responded "It's Japanese so it's really rare."

I wonder if I can become rich by selling imported games to gamestop.
