Hey Urza, you seem to know a lot about the EEEPC, any chance you know any good free MMORPGs that work on it?

Such as Shaiya or Knight Online?

I'm not a big mmorpg fan, but I do know that anything with GameGuard will not work. So Ragnarok and FlyFF are out.
Why wouldn't it work with an Eee PC with XP installation?

Oh and one that will work on all OS: Runescape.

Don't really know why. Just doesn't work for some reason.

I recommended this for our FIRST robotics team and I'm surprised they actually took my suggestion and dropped $400 on the thing. It's absolutely amazing, wasn't slow in XP like I had expected.Â

Heh. What's your team number, and where are you at?

Im playing maplestory online in my EeePC just fine, 800x480 res, and it's a GameGuard protected game, so I guess some gameguard games work

According to EEEUSER, soon the 4G will be available in all the pastel colors!
Neat. I was just about to suggest a pink version.

I like the white one ("pearl white"?), but I have a feeling it would get a yellowish tint pretty fast. Is this true?

So tempting, I don't need one, but I reeeally want one.
I have virtually no experience in Xandros, is it worth keeping Xandros? Or changing to XP or some other distro?

Adding a touchscreen to your EEE:
(Disregard the bad English.)

You will need this replacement screen. $100.

Seeing how Asus aren't planning on releasing a touchscreen version, this is your only option. Is it worth an additional $100? Maybe.

More here.

Also, adding an internal HSDPA card to your EEE:

Now I'm waiting for a GPS mod.

EDIT:

Internal Bluetooth mod.

Doesn't affect the external USB ports.

Old news is oooooold.

Easy-solder (and solderless) touch screen kits can be bought on eBay for like 60USD.

Why hasn't every single bit of information on the entire internet concerning the EeePC been posted in this thread yet?
Exactly

You have to admit that a touchscreen mod (especially such a cheap and easy touchscreen mod) warrants mentioning at least. It could be a major selling point for some. I never said I wanted every bit of information available on teh Intrawebz. You have to agree this little tidbit is more interesting than most. Or not

I don't know. I find the ability to easily mod it with a touchscreen contributes to its appeal. I mean, you can convert any screen to a touchscreen (EEE included), but most of them are expensive and complicated, so while people are aware of the option, they might not be aware that on the EEE it's actually cheap and simple.

I saw someone write an article here recently about how the Eee was a nice pickup at first, but the honeymoon was short lived.

For owners, how long have you had yours and to what extent do you believe this to be true?

Me, I'm just waiting to see if an 9-10 inch screen version pops up and then I'll definitely be on board.
