Hey folks.

EDM 010- Single beep on power button. Missing 1.8V on some rails. Identified blown F7002. Nothing shorted on Wifi but on back of southbridge, I do have a 0ohm short on this component. Can anyone verify is this is a coil/inductor or a cap?

ANy help you can offer would be appreciated. Don't want to just replace F7002 until I find the reason it blew in the first place. Boot sequence ends at 25-27ma

Thanks!

you're measuring active 3.3V line from clock battery, what's why you're getting a "short" in there, remove the battery and measure again to confirm that there is nothing wrong on that rail

You are 100% correct. Did not think about the effect of the coin cell. I'm left with a blown fuse as the identifiable fault. I'll replace it and see if the southbridge logged anything to UART. Thank you!

BLOWN F7002 clearly gives you a hint that something down the 5V line pulled too much current. You should start measuring around the 5v standby rails
