I wonder if it's just a cosmetic change...Someone already managed to edit the friend code by another not used?
Something fun like 0000-0000-0000 or 4869-4869-4869 (find why 4869, and you will have my respect)
I don't know of a way to *select* a FC (probably by editing the "friends" driver's save, and it likely won't be good for online), but there's a way to have another one assigned without formatting!

As far as I know, the same thing happens between the Portuguese language on NA and EU systems too.

I don't think editing the friend code is possible so others can add you. Only on your end.

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

The issue is DRM -

You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60
