I knew they would fix it any day. And it's awesome how the CycloDS skins work for the EDGE.

Overall, I would say the EDGE is one of my favorite carts. I have a G6DS, but the GUI is really slow and download play doesn't work for many games... The EDGE on the other hand works basically perfectly for everything I want to do.

Would be handy for my relative who purchased a few Edge for his friends. Shame that all 3 had the problem of the SD card sticking out slighty.

Review updated.

With the correction of the broken skinning, and knowledge that the fitting flush issue only affected a limited number of carts in the first batch, I've upgraded its award to "Gold".

I'm gone through about 60 or more M3 Simply's (two orders of 25 from China) so I'm hoping the EDGE will be the next mass market DS card with it's attractive price point.

For myself I have a questioning concerning say an 8GB card. So I load say like 200 games on that puppy or there about. Can I browse to the various folders and search for games in icon mode or list mode?

Reason I bring up the question is someone said "You can stick as many folders on there with games in them as you like - but the DSTT menu and the M3R menu will just display all of those games together." M3R think is the M3 Real.

So I don't want to cruise on down the list to game number #180 but rather navigator to a particular folder and have it display a list of games that are only in that folder. Does EDGE OS allow that?

I really think that getting one of those "high end" carts is a waste of money. I mean, what does the Cyclo offer that the Edge does not? From what I know, it has the ingame stuff, but that's it. The compatibility of the Edge seems perfect, including download play and homebrew. The way I see it, you would be paying more for extra features that detract from what the original gameplay would be. Why spend twice the money for something with just a few extra perks? It's like buying a banana split at an ice cream shop for $6 with sprinkles, but the same thing without sprinkles is $3. It's just a bad decision.

The only factors that make a difference to me in the purchasing of flashcarts are price, compatibility (including memory cards, homebrew, and download play), reliability (including manufacturer responsibility), and aesthetics (such as skinning, cart sturdiness, etc) Other than that, the other things don't matter much. (In fact, I might start reviewing each flashcart based on my own standards...

it looks like a great alternative to things like the DSTT or R4, but the truth is, the CycloDS Evolution is in a different category, along with Supercard DS ONE, etc.

The CycloDS Evolution, yes it has a large price tag, but keep in mind that most people can afford it.

lol Cyclo in a different category? how come?

Doesn't the Cyclo have a higher failure rate than R4?

I'd normally assume you were talking about price category but DS ONE isn't that expensive.

The failure rate of the new Cyclo DS Evolution is VERY low. The OZModChips guy reported, for example, one bad cart out of 500 that he sold.

My replacement cart was from the latest batch, worked fine, and does seem to be a bit higher in build quality than the earlier batches were.

It's interesting that the Edge can use Evolution skins, and I see that they've apparently, also released their source code. Going to have to download that and take a look at it...

Probably pick up one from DX just to poke around with.

Somewhat off topic but, the Canadian store modchipcentral.com is now selling the EDGE for $39.95 + $9.95 shipping.

How much is shipping with DX if you live in the USA? the cart it's self over there is $27.96
