OK After spending the past week googling and watching youtube EDGE videos in the vain hope that I could figure this thing out.
I'm appealing to you fellas.
The official guide is vague as anything.
Please would someone upload some screen shots of the file structure as I'm confused as to what goes where and I spent all day yesterday trying different configurations to see what would work.

Also I have DS Organise downloaded and ready to go but I know it is problematic on the EDGE so it is imperative that I have everything right before I try it out.

Thank you

at the root of the card x:\ (x= drive letter assigned by computer)

* EDGE.DAT
* A folder named EDGE
* A folder named moonshl (moonshell release 2 goes in here)

In the EDGE folder:
* cheats.dat ( http://cheats.gbatemp.net/ has newest updates on cheats for EDGE but needs to be renamed then put on the card)
* A folder named SKINS (your themes go in here. Just Extract the complete compressed file to a folder, then drop the folder in this directory)

So in review it will be:

x:\EDGE.DAT
x:\moonshl\
x:\EDGE\Cheats.DAT
x:\EDGE\SKINS\

Thats it. The rest you create for games/homebrew/media

I created/Uploaded a root directory layout for the EDGE card, it has:
EDGE - v1.4 w/cheats from gba 08/30/2008
moonshell
Games - directory w/subdirectories
2 homebrew "games", WordfindDS & Colors in the Games\Homebrew folder
the following empty folders - Apps, data, Music, Text
some of the folders are hidden (data, EDGE, moonshl, WordFindDS)
1 skin, minimal black

rar or zip

just unzip/unrar to your empty flash cartridge... boot it up and try it :)
Once in, can goto the right icon and press A while over "Skin" and choose the other, just put it on as a guide for more

Hey, it's almost no different than R4! I think I'll understand EDGE pretty quick

Thank you all, that was really helpful.

Ok now I put off posting back until now because I have been trying to get DSorganise to work. Without success, no matter where I put it.

Have you guys got it to work? If so where do you put it on the Edge?

Or any other similar homebrew, If you know of an alternate one that you find better.

Thanks again, it's really appreciated.

I tried the latest DSO (like 3.2?!) you extract the file/folders to the root of the card X:\

One thing with the EDGE is that with auto-dldi, it takes up to a minute to start homebrew, gotta be patient.

The other thing with DSO is it's buggy, atleast the latest one, there was a couple builds back that is better, for some reason something.85 comes to mind but could be wrong.

What are you needing to do with DSO?

EDIT: people say 3.1129 was less buggy: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?download=1319
