I have a gateway card with 9.2.

Is there a way to boot gateway software on coldboot instead of going to system profile etc.

Which is easiest for noobie to install any CFW or Gateway boot up right when you turn on.

thanks in advance

I'd suggest, like most would, to move to A9LH and Luma3DS.

You can do A9LH and set it up with the arm9loaderhax.bin that Gateway released for the people that doesnt use their A9LH guide

A9LH and SaltFW is the best setup for kids/noobish users.

Luma has a config menu - you don't want your kid to find out how to open it, so that's why SaltFW is the best in this case.

I'm basing this off your title, rather than your post content.

If you intend to set up a 3DS for kids to use, A9LH.

Because, while menuhax works, and you can set it to coldboot with no keypress,
if the child accidentally gets into sysnand and does a system update, that console is potentially not hackable anymore (without a hard mod).
And no matter how many times you may warn the kids to not update, kids being kids, will forget instructions.

A9LH takes that risk out of the equation. Just don't leave other tools inside, so it'll just boot straight to Luma irregardless.

Also, if you back up the nands and the items in the Sd card,
the only thing that would make the 3DS unrecoverable, is water damage or fall from heights ><

If you want ease of installation: MenuHax + Luma3DS
If you want a safer system: ARM9LoaderHax + Luma3DS

That it's possible to brick someone from arm11 userland and not even a hardmod will fix it.

Long story short don't run random .3dsx files kids.
I will always trust files from you astro. You are good person. :^)

Back on topic: Do not setup A9LH with GW only. Even on 3.7.1 Launcher.dat with GW' a9lh.bin, you still don't have FIRM protection. Meaning you will either lose A9LH or brick, if you update sysNAND in GW mode.

As the others said you should install A9LH and SaltFW but do you need to use your gateway card or would you Go full cia ? Because i think it's maybe better to not use Gateway on A9LH since it can potentially brick if the kids do a system update with GW

if you don't want to use all that a9lh bs an possibly brick your device you can use menuhax to boot directly into gateway using a a boot manager like mine it cold boots multiple CFW

We want an easy to boot system for kids... See the post below:

that's my set up with multiple CFW it can be set to one CFW and it can be timed to 1 second so whichever kid is using it doesn't mess with any settings my son's 3ds I'd set to one CFW and times out at 1 second and he has been using his 3ds like that for 4 months with no issues

A9lh+SaltFW. No chainloading, no config menu, just boot and play games. I have it on my nieces 3DS and I can confirm its 7 year old proof.

I have nothing against menuhax users. I was one at one point. I have nothing against Gateway users either. I am one.

However with that being said. The best, easy to boot, forget about it setup is A9LH with SaltFW.

to each their own I'm merely suggesting a safe alternative to him possibly bricking his son's 3ds since he's a newbie as he stated

A9LH running SaltFW is the best for kids and noobs alike
It's just install once and forget about it, nothing more to set up beyond installing your games.
