Easiest way to play Backups?

Whats the easiest way to play backups on an original Xbox, how can I go about softmodding the console to do this?

That is softmodding.

Extremely easy was is to find someone who has a modded xbox and ask if you can borrow/ put a hacked savefile on it.
Then get the corresponding game (007 Agent under Fire, Mechassault 1 or Splintercell)
Plonk the hacked save on your HDD and coldboot your game.

Then the magic happens when you load in your hacked save.


A good installer for this is Softmod Installer Deluxe.
I suggest you install UnleashX on it (very customizable and great for skinning if you're into skins)

Doesn't that involve having to pull out the hard drive and copying the hacked save files onto it?

That's a HDD Hotswap.

I do not recommend it as it can really kill your xbox.

Just get a Xbox MU and one of the games I named.
Then find someone with a hacked Xbox which will put the hacked save on it for you.
Or send it to me and I will copy it for you ;]
I can also buy a MU if you want to and send it your way already hacked.
I can see if I can find one of the games but I can't promise you that.
(Iirc Australia also has PAL?)

If im gonna do that I may as well get a Duo modchip and send my xbox down to my friend in Hobart

Hmm fair enough.

Then all you need to do is plonk in a bigger drive and boot Slayers CD
It'll format and install everything for you.
Infact making it a softmod with the added benefits of a hardmod. ;]

I dont really need all that other stuff, I usually mod consoles to play imports/backups
